Never had problems associated with the fuel filter. But you can check the size of the filer. I had a Mazda Millenia yr2000 before. The filter can fit in two baseballs probably. I owned it for 145,000 miles. No need of changing it. If the filter in you car is that big, you probably will be OK with the entire life of the car under your ownership.
