柔性尾气管更换

Front Flex Exhaust Pipe Replacement, Toyota Corolla 1997 1.6L Engine(前柔性尾气管的更换)

1. Put your car on the ramps (将车开到台子上) 

/>/> 2. Remove the two bolts at the tail end of the pipe (拆下排气管尾部的二个螺栓)
The tools & procedures are listed as follows. You may go through the loops of the procedures for several times until you lose the nut a bit. (所需工具和步骤如下. 你需要将下述步骤循环若干次才能将螺栓松动)

2.1 Wire Bushes to remove the rust around the bolts & nuts as much as possible



2.2 PB Blaster, penetrating oil. WD-40 is NOT penetrating oil.



2.3 Bolt Remover, left and general socket ratchet. A bolt remover is a special grip- tite socket tool, to remove severely rounded, rusted, and damaged bolts and nuts. Please note the thickness of the two tools. The space you can maneuver the tools is quite limit. The general socket ratchet did not work in my case.

2.4 Wrench/ Adjustable wrenchPlease note that the two hose clamps combined with the wrench and the 17” ratchet handle. This is a typical method to extend your tool lever if requires

2.5 Propane TorchIt is better to have a self igniting nozzle.

Procedure #2 is very tough job. You can image the difficulty when you see the rusty, rounded off bolts and nuts as shown below. 


3. Remove the two nuts at the head end of the pipe (拆下排气管头部的二个螺栓)
1/2” drive ratchet 17” long + 1/2” extension bar 10” long + #14 socket 4” long

4. Remove Oxygen Sensor & lead connector (拆下氧气感应器和联线插头)
#22 wrench + extension A retailing lever should be pressed while pull out the plug.


5. Order a Front flex exhaust pipe on eBay (在eBay上购置相应的排气管, 基本上是多伦多本地价格的一半．令人惊喜的是那远在天边的网上商店, 在多伦多就有仓库)

6. Install the Front Flex Exhaust Pipe in reverse Procedures
