Read my 悄悄话 please, use a 7812 voltage regulator on your LEDs.
Consider the alternator's output is 13.8-14.8 V. Higher voltage than 12.6 V of your car battery might eventually burn your LEDs out.
I have tried with 4 LEDs in series with 12.6 V to 14.8 V. They are ok with 12.6 V but are burnt out with 14.8 V.
