Get a key made in Walmart, Homedepot, or a local hardware store for less than $5, use that key for opening your door. Use your chip key to start your engine (if it is still working fine). You don't have to get a new chip key. It is only a $5 deal. The only difference is you have to carry 2 keys with you. I have this way with 2 keys with me for a long time.
