no, son and I ditched the Tesla wall charger and installed

Nema 14-50 that connects to 220v (2 110v hot) and 50 amp circuit breaker.  The hard part is to decide you have enough juice to power, admittedly it's a mess to open up the wall and get the #6 gauge wire of about 10 ft from the control box to the 4 prone plug. 

We just bought a stand to hang the tesla provided charging port.  Never been happier.
