Try remove the mic. from device manager. After that, reboot

When windows boots up, it will see there is a mic installed, and hopefully will reinstall the driver for it. 

That some times will solve the problem. If it still does not work, reinstall windows.

After that, the only choice would be to use a USB sound sound adapter.
