Your kid does not need to do anything now. You just provide your child birthdate certificate to USCIS and then, your kid will be a US citizen automatically if his/her age is less than 18 when you become a US citizen. Then, he/she can claim his/her US citizenship by filing N-600 or applying for the US passport. If he/she turns 18 before you get your US citzienship, then your kid needs to file N-400 to get the US citizenship as you do.
