【Fast Car】the most underdog song

我管它叫the most underdog song,是因为我觉得没有哪首歌比这首更underdog了；这首歌描述底层得无奈，挣扎，甚至自暴自弃，下一代重复着上一代的命运。“我”讲述了一个打工一族的女性想去摆脱贫困圈 escape the cycle of poverty。当然这首歌的作者Tracy Chapman是一位颇为成功的音乐人，只要不放任自己，或正在过着即使非贵也即富的生活。

我第一次听这首歌是多年前，被其旋律与节拍吸引，一个字‘与众不同’。当我听到歌词中我是girl时，我奇怪为什么第一人称是女性？在她的视频回帖里有个音乐专业的学生附言，她的老师在音乐课上以Fast Car举例，她也很惊讶，Tracy Chapman居然是She. Tracy是个中性名字，有兴趣可以搜一下Tracy Chapman，【Fast Car】原版视频， 不仅声音象男声视频中她看着也像个男孩。所以我开始也以为她是He; 这首歌的几个成功的翻唱也都是男声翻唱，翻唱作品也没有改歌词，仍然把自己称为girl.
