APAD: Count one's blessings

最西边的岛上 2025-11-30 08:14:23 ( reads)

The idiom "Count one's blessings" means to reflect on the good things in one's life and be grateful and appreciate what one has, or one’s good fortune.

This Pollyanna-like phrase is often used to help avoid worrying about what one lacks or one’s bad luck. (Note: Pollyanna, a children’s book from the early 1900s by Eleanor H. Porter, is the story of an orphan girl who remains resolutely cheerful and sweet-tempered in the face of considerable adversity).  A modern version of the cliché is think positive.

No one has a perfect life, and I do count my blessings each and every day.  Below is a peaceful song with the same title, just my own "God" is Mother Nature(== 大自然)who gives lives to all, human animals included. 得意

Have a blessed Sunday!
