APAD：2 live is 2 suffer, 2 survive is 2 find some meaning

The quote "to live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering" is famously attributed to the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (尼采）.  It suggests that suffering is an unavoidable part of life, but the act of surviving depends on finding purpose within that suffering, which provides the strength to endure it. This idea is echoed by Viktor Frankl in Man's Search for Meaning, who observed that a lack of meaning is what makes life unbearable, not suffering itself.

It also means that survival is not a passive act but an active process of giving purpose to the hardships, transforming it into something valuable. This must be found by the individual, not dictated by others.

Three days ago, a comment from 7G as above not only caught my eye, but made me deep in thought: what exactly is life and what is the meaning of living???

Next day, friend 冲浪潜水员（who used be a 版主 here in MYSJ) joked in 笑坛 that life itself is a joke sometimes, which touched me again.  So I dug out this well known phrase from Nietzsche.

Not a believer of any man-made religion, but I have read book "Buddha" by Karen Armstrong and appreciate the life lived by Siddhartha Gautama, founder of Buddhism.  I think his philosophy of how to end suffering and achieve Nirvana might be similar to Nietzsche's.
