APAD:The wolf that devours everything, & then devours itself

最西边的岛上 2026-01-08 06:20:01 ( reads)

"The wolf that devours everything, and then devours itself" is a metaphor, often linked to Norse mythology's Fenrir (a monstrous wolf, see Wiki),  and broader themes of uncontrolled power, self-destruction, and the inevitable collapse of systems, representing how unchecked ambition or destructive forces eventually consume their creators or the very world they sought to dominate. It symbolizes the inherent danger of giving in to primal instincts or power, which, after destroying everything else, turns inward to destroy the self or civilization.

In essence, the phrase warns that any force, internal or external, that grows without limit or moral boundary will eventually reach a point where it consumes its own foundation, leading to total ruin.

Sorry, I have tried to find something to light the day, but failed.

The wolf that devours everything, and then devours itself?

The dragon slayer eventually became a dragon?

I can’t wrap my head around what's happening in the world.  That helpless feeling at Covid time seems to come back.  I feel overwhelmed and have no choice, but giving up thinking, for now.

Amen!

Yep. Unchecked power or ambition eats itself.
