The Rain Is Brewing Coffee
The Rain Is Brewing Coffee
The rain is brewing coffee
and steaming your window
where I trace your silhouette
and listen to our hearts’ echo
The wind is folding letters
from pages we never sent
where words find their rhythm
and time becomes bent

x - It’s very evocative, almost cinematic. I love this verse “time becomes bent” adds a slightly surreal layer—like memory distorts reality. It feels controlled, cohesive, and quietly powerful without trying too hard. Mar 18

x - A quietly stirring reflection, where rain and wind become vessels for memory, longing, and the music of unspoken words Feb 24
x - I truly like the poem, but I think it reads better by saying, The rain is, and the wind is. Try it, and see what you think. Dec '25
x - This coffee-cup sized poem of two quatrains in ABCB end rhyme builds a gentle, present situation. Lots of action in the first stanza when rain brews, windows steam, narrators trace and hearts echo two characters together in peace. The second stanza offers more action with letter folding, word and perhaps love finds its rhythm. The piece softly concludes with Time itself being bent as the immediacy of two together at this place, now with all these things nothing matters but here. Great job translating the complexities of a quiet moment into a delicate word. /s Sept. 25
