ABC is the corner cut out. CE and BD are parallel, so AC/AD=AE/AB, or AC*AB=AD*AE. So triangle ABC and ADE are of equal area. Let DF=AE/2, so area(DFG)=area(ADE)/2=area(ABC)/2. Cut along FG.
