May was gone at Dec.16,2023 22:32 in Montreal with her 14 years life, and she company with us 13 years.
She is well-behaved, quiet, aloof, and she loves chat with us, always. She has little bit clumsy if she compare with Cat Bambo
and Cat Dambo, but she always keeps elegance and ladylike style.
May is the only one cat in our family most of time in past 13 years, she have ever had boyfriends and was being a mother in very short time. She moved with us several times in past several years, and she always accepted basically and calmly. She had two experiences of outing life, the 1st time because we need travel to overseas and could not let her go with us. The anther time because of my house was fired; we had to entrust her to one friend's home. We are still remembering her frightened eyes that moment, never moved out, maybe at that moment, she thought she wouldn’t live with us anymore. But when we settled everything and then went to pick her up after one month, she could not believe the truth that she took almost one hour observing carefully, and then quickly rushed to her sister, my daughter and then jump on her arms and hold her closely - this is the only nervous time in her 14 years life.
May grew up with her sister, my daughter. In the human world, she is always been a beautiful baby of ours. In cat world, she grew up is such fast, childhood，adolescence，youth，middle age，elder. In her mind, my daughter is her dear old sister, is her younger sister, and then is her baby-sister. So she treated her with great patience and doting, she likes chat with her, she always appears immediately whatever she do and where ever she is if her baby-sister calls her. But in her eye, I am always being a mom, she is always being a child of mine, never change!
May was entering her twilight years when my daughter was in university. She got a big belly, but we thought mistakenly that she was pregnant. But no new catty came after two months, and she was weaker than weaker. She got hydro abdominal syndrome and her living was in dangerous state, the veterinary gave us two options, one is euthanasia, another is surgery, but he not sure could save her life after the surgery, and give us a $6000 quote. May was very weak and weight lost huge, she refused food. We decided to force-feed her three cans of special nutrition every day and hope could increase her weight then she could get ready to accept this surgery challenge. In same time, we almost called half of veterinary hospitals in Montreal to ask an surgery appointment as early as they could. Thanks God, all of our efforts had been responded, and we got the surgery schedule after two weeks. It is lucky she miraculously recovered some strength, and the cost was much lower than $ 6000 quote. My daughter insisted reasonable this payment with her three-month internship salary. The surgery was success, she regained health gradually and our family back to normal simple and happy life.
In 2019, we adopted 
pug Diti and Norwegian-forest catBambo and hope they could accompany her, May sometimes was very happy to been in the role of one mother, the puppy and the kitty curl up next to her and made sucking movements comfortably, sometimes she turned to a stern old grandmother who educated them and established rules for them.
The puppy and the kitten glowed up very fast. May was a responsible guardian warmly and sternly, our days are lively and colorful. She looks like a boss, Diti and Bambo are followers, but in most of time, they were a little bit afraid of her even if they grow big as her and then surpassed her.
"Why is she always in angry? Any mistake does I make?!" Pug Diti always rolls his big eyes and thought seriously.
"Brother, you never make anything wrong!” Cute kitten Bambo ways yearns for freedom comforts Diti: “How about we go out to have fun, Dear Diti?!" He looks so optimistic and heartless...
We welcome three ignorant kitties - "Snows" came to our family by accident this year, and May became even more majestic. Maybe she felt that she should had more responsibilities because she had more children now. Later, girl Katywent to her new home. Girl Snow joined to another family. The curious boy Dambo stayed with our family because May love him especially and my daughter said that will value quality life of May. Then their days started with different breakfasts from different rooms, and ended with their common favorite "biscuit time" every day, vibrant and peaceful.
Life always give us surprises we never know, another words is simplicity is a luxury. Her appetite has become less and less, and her body became thinner and weaker. But her work and rest as usual and she still kept full of energy, especially in her educating the three little guys times. We try our best to adjust her diet and support more nutrition to her, we hoped she could improve her weight, gain some fat and kept in health.
In the last three days of her life, she refused to eat and always jump to sink to drink the flowing water. The three little guys were playing around her, but she ignored them in most of time. If she got really annoyed, she would yell at them also. My daughter was very busy and was not at home those days, I was very anxious. I hoped I could copy the same story as saved her living as last time, then I forced her to eat chicken con, but I feeding her one mouthful food and she vomited most of it, and she hugged me tightly and laid on my shoulder as she did in her baby time. I was distressed and felt huge pain in my heart.
Weekend is always busy time for me. I feeding her in the rush and put her back in her crib lightly that Saturday morning. But she gets up hardly and walked towards me tremblingly, as to say "Mom, give me a hug, I want you to hold me!” I had no choice and rush out to work because more students were waiting for me that day. My heart was crying when I closed my door! I told myself I must bring her to see doctor at next Monday.
My daughter comes back in that Saturday afternoon; she hugged her lovingly and feed her. May refused again and just drank water. At 10:02 pm, she finishes her 14 years as a cat in struggles. Her eyes were extremely dark and bright, and her expression was natural as she was saying “I couldn’t to sleep, and I should educate Diti, Bombo and Dambo. I am always the little beauty of this family, I need take care of my baby-sister, I want in mom’s arm as in my childhood ”.
One cat life is such short, it is just a dozen years for us; a cat’s life is such long, since join in our family in ignorance, quietly guarding us, warming us as best as she could throughout her life, she keeps herself cleanly and observes everything discreetly; when we need her, she stays with us without hesitation; when we are busy, she stays silent in the corner. She love chatting and responding quickly; she would express her opinions and even argue with us; she would laughing when she is happy and ignore us when she is sadness. The world has warmth because of her
