A Wild Goose Chase

Once enthroned, the Emperor  convinced himself that he was destined to lead the world. However, he soon proved to be a bumbling actor on the global stage.

A self-proclaimed warrior, the Emperor's frequent attempts at unconventional warfare were baffling. In one critical battle, he rode into the fray atop a horse facing backward. His bewildered yet loyal soldiers followed suit, resulting in a chaotic retreat. Claiming victory nonetheless, he boasted of testing a new strategy inspired by Sun Tzu, who, naturally, couldn't contradict him from the grave.

As the sole imperial economist, the Emperor never shied away from bold ideas to break world records, whatever that meant. For instance, he once decreed that all chickens should be dressed in red to increase egg production, leading to an empire-wide shortage of red dye, garments, and eggs.

Still, life went on—or so we were told.
