For Social Security Administration retirement benefits, the rule is generally:

You receive

either your own retirement benefit,

or a spousal benefit,

whichever is higher.

不能同时领！配偶的50%还是自己的100%，二选一。

一般是先领配偶的50%，让自己的每年增值8%到70岁，因为到时自己的100%高于配偶的50%，70岁开始拿自己的。
