[前言] The Berenstain Bears – Stories are set in Bear Country, a society composed entirely of bears. Story lines typically follow the Bear family as they deal with topics relevant to both children and parents. It is a series of excellent books to learn child education and parenting skills.  Lilac09 rewrites these stories for English studying.

Come see Doctor Grizzly while you are young. 

Mama bear and Papa bear were going to take Sister bear and Brother bear to see the doctor tomorrow for a checkup. Sister bear was a little worried that it would hurt. She asked a bunch of questions and Mama bear assured her that everything would be just fine.

 
The next morning, after breakfast, the family got into their car and went on their way. They pulled to a stop in front of a beautiful white building, the hospital.

 
The doctor’s waiting room was a busy, cheerful place with pictures on the wall, books to room and puzzles to play. There were also other cubs with their parents. One of them had a cast on his leg. He let Brother wrote his name on it for luck and Sister drew a picture. (美国有往石膏上签名写祝福，给患者带来好运的文化)

Doctor bear was very friendly, but she went right down to work. She had so many patients to take care of and not much time to waste.

 
She weighed and measured them. She listened to their chest with stethoscope(听诊器). She poked them all over to check on everything inside. She took their temperature and checked their throat. Then she looked at their ears, noses and eyes with a special light.

 
So far so good, nothing hurt. Sister bear was relaxed and happy. Then Doctor bear look through her eyeglasses at the papers, “Almost done except one thing, the booster shots (疫苗注射)”

 
Oops, here came the hurting part. Doctor bear comforted Sister bear that it was not nearly as much as biting her tongue or bumping her shin (小腿). And Doctor bear was right. It was already done before Sister had time to say ouch.

 
It turned out that the whole family was as fit as fiddle (非常健康) except Papa. He bragged that he hardly ever got sick, but this time he came down with flu. He had to take the gooey (黏而甜的) pink stuff prescribed by the Doctor. Poor Papa, take care!
