葛浩文/Howard Goldblatt简介：

Howard Goldblatt中文名是葛浩文，美国著名的翻译家，出生于1939年，20世纪60年代服役期间在台湾学习汉语，后获得印第安纳大学中国文学博士学位。 目前是英文世界地位最高的中国文学翻译家。他的翻译严谨而讲究，“让中国文学披上了当代英美文学的色彩”。葛浩文的翻译清单包括萧红、陈若曦、白先勇、李昂、张洁、杨绛、冯骥才、古华、贾平凹、李锐、刘恒、苏童、老鬼、王朔、莫言、虹影、阿来、朱天文、朱天心、姜戎等二十多位名家的四十多部作品。

     "高羊!"

那天中午，阳光十分强烈。久旱无雨，天空和大地之间游走着混浊的尘埃，弥漫着腐烂蒜薹的臭气。一群蓝色的乌鸦疲惫地从院子上空掠过，地上闪过灰淡的阴影。已经收获的大蒜没来得及编成辫子，散乱地堆在院子里，被炎阳曝晒着，发出阵阵恶臭。在堂屋里，他蹲在一张矮桌前，耷拉着两撇倒运的掉梢眉毛，端起一碗蒜薹汤，克制着从胃底泛上来的恶心，刚要伸嘴强喝，就听到从虚掩的破旧院门外，传来一声焦灼的吼叫。他听出这是村主任高金角在呼叫自己的名字，便匆忙放下碗，大声应着，往院里走。

"Gao Yang!"

The noonday sun beat down fiercely; dusty air carried the stink of rotting garlic after a prolonged dry spell. A flock of indigo crows flew wearily across the sky, casting a shadowy wedge. There had been no time to braid the garlic, which lay in heaps, reeking as it baked in the sun.
