Amiss 

第一次读到这个词时，以为是typo，后来一查才知道是Not quite right; inappropriate or out of place. 不太对，不正常，离谱的意思。

再仔细一看，词根miss有三个意思：

• fail to hit, reach, or come into contact with (something aimed at) - 没打中，错过
• fail to notice, hear, or understand -没注意，没听见，没明白
• 未婚女士

加个前缀 a 成了形容词，副词。比如: something is amiss - 有点不正常。
