轻舞飞扬

“交谊舞就是推来推去,disco就是踢来踢去”。This was one of my college friends’ opinion about dancing. Cool, huh? I do not remember when and where was my last dance. Meeting e-friend Flamenco_Girl online reminds me of my dancing experiences as a college student. Her logo picture seems to say: come on girls, dancing with your passion.

I have never been trained formally, not to mention professionally. Dancing, to me at that time, was for having fun, losing weight and secretly hunting the prey to serve me for the rest of my life. J Since I was not wily enough, I never trapped any victim. However, the first two purposes were easily fulfilled. JAlthough the dancing hall of college was usually simple and plain, it killed little of my passion. On weekends, my girl friends and I would show up (and maybe show off at the same time) in the dance hall with our beautiful skirts, high-heel shoes and some make-ups as well, in case we were ignored as wall-flowers. J My favorite was Waltz. Whenever the music started, I would eagerly hope a good partner to invite me. Although I myself was only able to perform the basic steps and some of the variations, I still enjoyed it very much. J

Dancing is one of the best sports to keep good figure based on my experiences. Furthermore, I believe that dancing will sculpt not only one’s body but also the spirit. I love the delightful atmosphere of the ballroom, the soft lights, the enjoyable music and the fluttering beautiful dresses. Most importantly, I am always inspired by the confident smile on the dancer’s faces and the deeply-rooted elegant manner in his or her movement. Men behave like real gentlemen while ladies real fair ladies. Like the movie “The Bathing Beauty” described, “I am so beautiful. Everybody will love me”.

Now shall we dance?

The following is some information about Waltz from Wikipedia.

The waltz first became fashionable in Vienna around the 1780s, spreading to many other countries in the years to follow. The waltz, and especially its closed position, became the example for the creation of many other ballroom dances. The most common basic figure of a waltz is a full turn in two measures using three steps per measure.Subsequently, new types of waltz have developed, including many folk and several ballroom dances. International Standard Waltz has only closed figures; that is, the couple never leaves closed position.
