道是无情却有情

My friend worried about his son Eric recently because he had to send him to the daycare. Eric was the only Asian kid there. The experiences of being separated with his grandparents, leaving his familiar surroundings and being thrown into a whole new environment really challenged him physically and mentally. Eric was only quiet on the first day but cried and refused to eat on the following days. My friend told me that he left immediately once he dropped off Eric and did not dare to look at Eric one more time.

I totally understand my friend’s feeling and situation. I guess my baby will behave like this too when he has to be in the daycare. I have imagined what might happen for many times. Whenever I think of it, I feel my heart is aching. Emotionally, I hate to see him suffering from any unhappiness. Rationally, I know it is an essential step for kids to be socialized, to be independent, and to broaden their own world. Every Mom has to balance out her sense and sensibility in terms of raising and educating her kids. Since I gave birth to my son, I frequently warn myself not to spoil him.

Undoubtedly, the love between the parents and their children is the greatest and unconditional one in the world. However, it is special too. The goal of this love is separation rather than being together forever. In other words, the love from the parents is to help their children to be independent individuals. The sooner, the better, and the more successful. So as a Mom, do not love too much. Do not drown your kid in your endless love.
