I came back to work right after the Christmas day last year (2005) as I did not have any vacation days left after the trip to China. My husband and the kids stayed at my in-laws for another week and then started their 13 hour long drive back home.

They drove for 7 hours on the first day, stayed in a hotel and then after another 6 hours drive, my kids came through the door running towards me screaming “Mommy, mommy!” and knocked me over on the carpet.

I had missed them so much that I just rolled together with them and showered them with kisses.

“So are you guys tired? I missed you so much!”

Evan immediately said: “Nope, mommy, we came back to pick you up.”

“Pick me up to where?”

“Burger King and Taco Bell.”

Apparently he was not tired.
