This week I'd like to reflect on the few events that occurred in America in recent times. We are all reeling in pain that was incited by recent events that occurred in our nation over the past year. You all might recall the death of George Floyd, among many other black Americans, that was only the tip of the iceberg. We must acknowledge that many lives have been lost unjustly. As health care providers, we must stand in solidarity to oppose racism, social injustice and inequality. We must commit to actively speak out to oppose and eliminate health disparities that are running rampant in our society.
