Le chateau --- Poor Customer Service:)

Since came to Canada, I don't feel any pressure from sellers because you can see good customer service sample everywhereJ 

I always saw the “Guarantee Customer Satisfied” rule on the receipt.  You almost can bring everything back without a reason why you don’t like and they will smile and return the money back or you can exchange something back.

 

I used to work in a specialist food store. Customers even can bring the half bags of nuts, yoghurts or flour because they brought wrong one or it doesn’t taste good. My boss always gives exchange or refundJ That tells me the most what call customer service!

 

The first time I return goods to London Drugs, I was worried because I was thinking it is my fault that brought a wrong product which is opened by me (I don’t think they can sell it againJ), but the lady in customer service said it is ok if you don’t want it you can bring it back and you don’t need to give a reasonJ I don’t remember what I returned, but I was shocked by her answer because I was trying to explain why I don’t need it J I had experience to return hair dryer etc. I also had experience to return some groceries to Canadian Superstore without any problem. I had good experience to return a shower curtain to Sealers where has good customer service. They all give the best respect of my decision. I can say it is a pleasant process. I don’t mean I often return goods but I am living in Vancouver for 4 years. There are once or twice returning goods which happened. Especially when I just move into new apartment where I need a lot of stuffs.   I can say I am the one who really feel uncomfortable to return goods back in China where is almost impossible to return goods (but my friends told me things have been change since I left). I also had experience to have price adjust in “The Bay” where are really nice to be.

 

Then I had my Waterloo today……… because I think it is not a big deal!

 

Le Chateau is a company from Montreal! I brought a white colour one layer cotton jacket $34.00 after tax from  the branch store located in Seymour st. in downtown Vancouver in Aug 14, 2006 @ 6:20 pm. I brought it back home and cut the price age off because I want to wash it before I wear it. Then, before I did that, my boyfriend came in and looked at it. He thinks it is not suit in meJ I wore and showed him again. He said it is not so good. I thought about it and I thought he is right this time because it is a little bit big. I decided to bring it back next day. Well, it was busy next day. I ended up brought it back on Aug. 16, 2006, 1:00 pm. You can’t imagine what happen to me!!!!  The Asian Cashier says she is in charge today as a store manager. She had a dark black eye shadow and told me she can’t take it back or even exchange other goods to me because you cut the price tag off which is considered old goods and impossible to sell. Even I provided the original price tag and receipt. She even gives me a sample. She said what if people wore it over night and brought it back next day for refund. My God!! If you studied MBA, you will know there is a trust EACH OTHER relationship between customer and stores or brand. In the marketing, you trust your customer and then the customer will trust you back which is a golden rule to make a good business. In China, they call “和气生财“. That is the worst predict and customer service I ever had in Canada. The funny part is the attitude is covering the whole company ----- get rid of the goods and don’t ever take it back if they can’t dell it again or ….

 

I called Montreal – the head office latterly because I don’t believe there is such unethical company where is selling for money and without caring in Canada.  You can’t imagine the first sentences what the customer clerk said is we can exchange it if we can sell it again and I can’t see you there so I will call the store to check for me.  She is keeping asking if I wore it. I don’t know what to tell you. I just understand why I will not go back to this company for anything. I just don’t care to exchange the jacket or money.

I just feel surprised how this Montreal company could survive in today’s market.
