【劇情介紹】：
义侠[大刀王五]锄强扶弱一刀平天下。知己难求，能舍身为友的人更是廖若晨星。因此之故，清人王五（吴卓羲）与课嗣同（黄宗泽）的友谊一直为后人所乐道。五一向视读圣贤书为苦事，给母亲王阮心怡（邵美琪）送入武学堂后才学会脚踏实地。五在的学堂认识了为逃婚而进学堂的同。同才情洋溢，与五一文一武，惺惺相惜。他俩在教官陈道扬（刘松仁）熏陶下，不但武艺精进，更培养了行侠仗义的武德，三人建立起亦师亦友的关系，为避开妻子李闰（杨怡）而入学堂的同在学堂里遇上了卓兰格格（杨思琦），可惜兰只喜欢五。离开学堂后，五在扬在协助下重开亡父的顺源镖局，同则推行改革以望救国救国。同得罪了权贵荣禄，遭其打压。同失意于官场........
