Where have all the dollars gone? Long time passing. Where have all the dollars gone? Long time ago. Just last year the dollars were here. Now yuppie phrases of the past like "cash flow" are quickly becoming archaic expressions. What happened to terms like "nest egg", "15% tips" and "Christmas bonuses"? If inflation is a monetary phenomena... Thatis... If inflation is brought about by an increasing amount of money inthe economic system, then what "flation" term best describes thiseconomy? Where is the increasing flow of dollars into the system that supports higher incomes and higher prices? The prices for energy and food are increasing, but those price increases only extract dollars from the rest of the economy. Wherehave all the dollars gone that people thought they invested in theirhomes.. the dollars that were multiplying day-to-day enabling thosefolks to spend and support the economy? Where have all the dollars gone that real estate agents and mortgage brokers were making hand over fist? Where have all the dollars gone that Wall Street was multiplying ad infinitum into the derivative markets?
