My husband got fired this week.

My husband got fired this week and the last employment day is next Friday. Because we didn\'t expect it so he hasn\'t found a new job yet. My current status is F1. I am wondering if he could change to F2 and when we should submit the application of changing status-right now or wait unitl next Friday and what kind of documents we should prepare. Thanks.
