I like bay area. I live in a small town close to SF/Berkeley with acceptable schools. There are children’s museums, parks, little farms, public gardens within 30 minutes of drive. (Mostly within 15minutes.)
It is a quite liberal place. Techers and kids in my sons preschool are coming from more than10 different countries, and most of them are well educated and interesting ppl to mingle with.
Meanwhile, I've learned not to be ‘shocked’ if one boy showed up in a platted dress in the music class. Or one of my kid’s classmates has two moms.
It is hard to bring up kids with more traditional values in such a liberal place. I have to prepare answers for a lot of unusual questions, many of which might be unnecessary if I still live in Mid-west.
Of course I don’t afford big brand-new house with 5 bathrooms and a pool in the back yard. And both of us need to work hard to pay mortgage~
Do I consider moving back to Mid-west where I landed when I first came to states? I did think about this option especially when I saw those beautifully decorated mansions in <> forums.
