九十岁老人的两个故事:

1) Because they had no reservation at a busy restaurant, my elderly neighbor and his wife were told there would be a 45-minute wait for a table.  
  "Young man, we're both 90 years old, " he told the maiter d'. "We may not have 45 minutes."
  They were seated immediately.

2) My father, at age 93, had only the most basic needs and very few wants. Last fall, my sister-in-law, hoping to get a little help in choosing a suitable birthday gift for him, asked, "Pa, what would you like for your birthday this year?"
  "Nothing," he replied.
  "But, Pa,"she kidded, "that's what we gave you last year."
  "Well," he answered, "I'm still using it."
