【花园里的爱情祈祷者】中英文双语诗

 

 

 

      【Love Prayers in the Garden】

I walked in the garden 

To smell roses,

Saw a praying mantis leaning over a purple rose,

Whose scientific name is “love songs"

 

 

 
Arms crossed on his chest,

The mantis was praying. I wonder 

If he prayed to the same God, as I did,

If he has found any wisdom of love, smelling the roses

 

 

 

Quietly, I left the garden, 

Let him enjoy a moment of tranquility, 

If his praying is long enough, maybe he could hear

A few soprano love song arias, from the purple rose

* Praying Mantis is called "praying bug" in some languages, and its scientific name is mantis, which means "prophet" in Greek. Some early civilizations believed that the praying mantis had supernatural powers, such as ancient Greece, ancient Egypt, and Assyria.

我在花园里散步，品赏各种玫瑰花香，

看见一只绿色的螳螂，

俯身在一朵紫色的玫瑰上，

玫瑰的学名叫 “爱情之歌”

 

 

 
螳螂双臂交叉在胸前，

正用心祈祷。我想知道 ——

它是否与我一样，在向同一个上帝祈祷，

闻赏玫瑰花香时，爱情的智慧可寻找到？

 

 

 
悄悄地，我离开了花园，

让它享受片刻的宁静，

如果它祈祷得足够长，或许还能听到

几首女高音情歌咏叹调，那来自紫玫瑰的歌声

* 螳螂，Praying Mantis, 在某些语言中被称为 “祈祷虫”，学名 mantis, 是希腊文 “预言家”的意思
有些早期文明认为螳螂具有超自然力量，例如：古希腊、古埃及和亞述。

今年我新添了一种深粉色的玫瑰，叫 Pretty Lady，已经有花苞了，can't wait to smell it ～～

 

 

 

我的花椅，本来是买了组合花盆用的，后来发现这么放在一起，也挺好看，已经在这里开了两周了，就让它们坐在这里，享受早晨的阳光吧 ～～
